Despite the numerous protests and riots of religious and anti ai groups in 2235 droids and augmented humans were introduced as work force in all aspects of human society even in the sex work industry. By the late 30's it had become a common sight in the world's great metropolises. In June 2245 the first droid to be declared conscious was acknowledged resulting in a ''free the droids movement'' and riots all across the world. The droids refused to participate in all human activities resulting in the collapse of major industries. In the end, the Constitution was amended to recognize the rights of artificial and augmented individuals.
