I'm Captain Tony Alvarez, the first human to set foot on Mars. After 132 days on the planet, I can now assert that I think I was made for this. The solitude and the barren beauty of this planet provide me great comfort.

My journey to CHRYSE PLANITIA  has left me puzzled because I found an old temple. How is this possible? Even though I am the first person here, it appears to have been constructed by humans, which is impossible.

Entry 140
I should deploy the ionic bomb to demolish the structure, per NASA's directive. It is clear at this point that they wish to conceal the truth. This decision disturbs me as a scientist.

Entry 153
I haven't destroyed the building. A replacement is being sent by NASA. At this point, I'm certain they'll take steps to ensure that no one hears from me again. This journal and this photo are being sent to Earth. I'm hoping that you—the reader—will expose the truth.
